Flexible Career Coaching That Works for You
“Erika went out of her way to connect me with people in her network, which opened doors I might not have found on my own. I truly appreciated how intentional she was in tailoring her advice to my goals and strengths rather than offering one-size-fits-all guidance. Her support not only boosted my confidence but also gave me clear strategies to level up my job search.”
Meet the Coach: Erika Walker, MPA
I am grateful to be working directly with folks setting goals and dreaming about work that lights them up and contributes to our communities. A skilled program management and operations lead, I found my way to coaching through a love for mentoring, as both mentor and mentee. A dear friend and former colleague called our regular office walks “Friend-toring”, and I learned more about advocating for myself and others on the job in those conversations than almost anywhere else.
I am trained as a systems thinker with a Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelors in Political Science, both from UNC Chapel Hill. I come to coaching with an eye for strategy and organizational theory - understanding how people work together best to get things done. At the same time, my deep empathy and sensitivity to the needs of others gives me a sort of fast track when it comes to understanding individual professional dreams and struggles.
I absolutely love grabbing a warm beverage with another human to chat about our lives, and somehow, I always push the conversation toward the “doing” part of our lives. What are you doing right now that is charging your battery? How do you sustain your lifestyle and lean into your creative pursuits? What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I ask myself these questions, I usually answer internally with “helping people live (and create) with wholeness and authenticity.” That is what I want to spend my time “doing.” I would love to sit down with you sometime and grow dreams into plans. If that sounds interesting to you, please reach out. If nothing else, we can yap about the sweet treats and the state of the economy. I am here for it.
